Hi friends. Welcome to my humble domain.

I'm Gia, and it's been about a year since I learned what being grown-up really meant. I was already responsible, but it's definitely the next level now, and I hope some of you can relate.

I grew up in a small town called Nowheresville, USA. Our nearest neighbors are miles away, and you can't even see your hand in front of your face at night without lights in these parts. I'm what my father likes to call a Gen Z baby. Whatever. As long as I'm different from him. Just don't call me a Daddy's girl. I despise that, but I'm a big sweat-heart otherwise.

See, he was a drunk, so we never saw eye to eye. Which is why I'm here. It was my fuel to be better. I didn't have much growing up, so I saved. I stuffed all of my hard-earned babysitting and side job money in a sock and tucked it away under my dresser for years. All my birthday money from relatives, every dime. I saved to leave because I knew I deserved better. I saved to live because all I've ever done is survive.

But today that changes because I'm no longer a victim. I'm free. And I managed to save enough to put a bid on a charming little fixer upper. And guess what? It has character, just like me, so I'm looking forward to giving it a makeover because let's face it. Makeovers are great!

I hope you join me on my DIY home renovation journey. I'm hoping to give some tips. Get some tips. And turn this house into a sanctuary. Besides, you could get some good laughs out of it, and laughter's great for the soul.

I'm a huge klutz, so this is going to be fun or funny at the very least. It's okay, though, because I've been dreaming about this since I was still in pigtails. I've vowed to put my blood, sweat, and tears into this home because it's the first thing that's ever been truly mine. I worked hard for it, and I'm far from done. I'd love it if you'd join me as I attempt to conquer adulting 101.
